The LWRGI THEATRE GROUP

The LWRGI THEATRE GROUP is located at Chandamari, P.O.- Chandrapara, Dist.- Kokrajhar, BTR, Assam, 783370 bordering Bengal and lies in the Himalayan foothills. The group was established on 10th May, 2009 and got its registration on 9th July, 2009 vide Registration No KJR/253/L/106 of 2009 under the Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860 with a firm objective for the promoting propagation and preservation of Cultural heritage in the country at large and promotion and enhance of Theatre movement in the Country in particular. Since it’s inception, the Theatre Group has been running actively and working seriously under the guidance of  Sanjib Kr. Brahma who is very dedicated theatre activist in the region. Mr. Keshab Mashahary who is P.G. Diploma in Theatre Arts from IKSVV and One Year Certificate Course holder from NSD (TIE wing), Tripura  and lots of active and experienced executive members and Artistes from entire BTR area are working with the group. The Group comprised of the Dramatic Diploma holders from NSD Tie Wing and I.K.S.V.V. The Lwrgi Theatre Group is also running a Folk Music & Dance Section since 2018. In every year the group has been organizing residential-nonresidential Workshops for children and adult, Seminar, Social Awareness programmes on different themes etc. In the year 2018 the group has established a Child Centre named “Gothosafwrni Soura” at Bashbari, Bishmuri, Kokrajhar.

The main objective of the group is to articulate talent both physically and mentally. So that the youth & children can pay attention on cultural activities even in an unstable social condition in the entire North East India. Keeping in view the objective of the group we have been organizing workshop both for adult and children inviting expert faculties from all over India
